Are you in need of an external water-bound assembly facility? Our state of the art terminal at Broekman Project Services (BPS) facilitates the handling, assembly, storage and other value-added services for your complex and overweight cargo.
Broekman Project Services and its Heavy Lift Centre
Located at the Waalhaven, in the heart of the port of Rotterdam, lies the breakbulk terminal Broekman Project Services with its Heavy Lift Centre, which is ideal as an external assembly facility. The port of Rotterdam is Europe’s largest seaport and the port owes its leading position to its outstanding accessibility for seagoing vessels.
The assembly facility at the Heavy Lift Centre, with four indoor halls, has a floor space ranging up to 16,000 m2 and a maximum passage of 20 meters high. The halls are equipped with overhead cranes, with the largest one able to lift up to 700 tonnes. Furthermore, the assembly facility is directly connected to the quay that is specifically designed for offshore and heavy lift cargo. The spacious basins of this port ensure that even the largest ships can enter and depart here 24 hours a day. Ideal for transporting complex and heavy cargo to and from locations all over the world.
Handling equipment for large and heavy industrial machinery
Through our partners in the port of Rotterdam, there is a large fleet of equipment available for transportation and handling of large and heavy industrial machinery or equipment. For onshore transportation, this can be done by hydraulic trailers and self-propelled modular trailers (SPMTs). The transshipment from the onshore assembly facility to the vessel or vice versa can be arranged by mobile cranes or by use of the large fleet of floating sheerlegs. This enables safe movements within the port of Rotterdam by the extended waterways. Moreover, the assembly facility at the Heavy Lift Centre, provides the possibilities for a wide range of activities that are common in the final assembly process. Such as blasting, painting, preservation, factory acceptance tests, seaworthy packaging, and more.
