Kubota and Broekman Logistics strengthen their long-term partnership

Rotterdam, 21 October 2021 – Kubota and Broekman Logistics have been successful partners for over 15 years and have recently strengthened this partnership with a brand new, to-be-build location in Weert, the Netherlands.

Broekman Logistics and Kubota started their cooperation in 2005 with a European Distribution Center (EDC) in Born. The EDC expanded in 2009 with the addition of Value Added Services and now in 2021 forms a logistics campus of approximately 40.000 sqm for Kubota’s construction machinery division. The partnership between Kubota and Broekman Logistics is further strengthened by the opening of the new-build warehouse in Weert, The Netherlands.

The 62.000 sqm state-of-the-art warehouse in Weert will serve as a hub for Kubota’s pan-European activities and the move from Born is expected to take place within twelve months. At this facility, Broekman Logistics will exploit the storage, assembly services and also the outbound logistics for the Kubota Construction Machinery throughout Europe.

Ron Kuijpers, Director Business Development of Broekman Logistics: “After years of year-on-year growth it was time for Kubota and Broekman Logistics to intensify our partnership by providing Kubota with a state-of-the-art warehouse, together with our partner for real estate, Heylen Warehouses. We are very excited about the current partnership we have with Kubota and look forward to prolonging our partnership within the new warehouse in Weert”.

The setup of the new warehouse in Weert will create further efficiencies in the continuous improvements of the operations that have been in place for so many years now. The new set-up will create an optimised layout of logistics and assembly, reduction in lead times and the facilitation of future growth for Kubota. Furthermore, it will contribute to both Kubota’s as well as Broekman Logistics’ goals in providing sustainable operations and services.

Ralph Caspanni, CEO at Heylen Warehouses: “We are very excited about the renewed cooperation with Broekman Logistics, wherein we build on previous successful projects exploited together. Next to the great cooperation with Broekman Logistics, we are very proud that a renowned global brand like Kubota has chosen for a high quality warehouse investment of Heylen Warehouses. The project Logistic Mill 21 in Weert combines the state-of-the-art warehouse, equipped with all modern technical requirements, with a unique landscape integration. In cooperation with landscape architect MTD a courtyard garden of 6.000 sqm is established to promote the climate adaptation”

Mikio Taguchi, President of Kubota Baumaschinen GmbH and Executive Vice President of the CE Europe Business Unit at Kubota Holdings Europe BV, said: "The move to a new distribution centre in the Netherlands is a big step forward for Kubota. This expansion represents a significant investment of the company's operations and will not only help us to further improve our current range of services, but also to increase the satisfaction of dealers, distributors and, ultimately, end customers".
