Advancing Warehouse Training: Virtual Reality Integration

One such initiative, implemented last year, involves the introduction of virtual reality (VR) training sessions for employees at our Venlo warehouse, with a specific focus on handling ADR goods (hazardous goods).

Under the guidance of Rachid Salhi, our Operations Excellence Manager, VR training has received accolades for its effectiveness and enjoyable nature. Annually, around 160 employees participate in these sessions, covering forklift and reach truck operations.

Rachid emphasises our dedication to excellence in chemicals: “Given our aim to excel in chemicals, we can simulate unsafe situations in VR simulations. All new employees within Broekman Logistics, regardless of their role as MHE drivers, must undergo these training sessions. Our incident form/process is also linked to this. The next step is to fully virtualise our current warehouse in this training.”

The Virtual Warehouse Trainer by Playsight forms the cornerstone of our VR training program, providing a realistic and secure learning environment. Operators navigate hazardous scenarios while receiving immediate feedback to enhance their skills and safety awareness.
